Lisbon

On the first day, we walked around and explored the city life.

We stayed at an airbnb, 2 bed/1 bath that sleeps 6. Bad idea sharing 1 bathroom, the living room was humid/warmer, and being on the main street was very loud. Opening the door with an ancient key is wickedly weird and tricky.

We then did a major hike up to the hilly top of the city. Towards the end of the night, we chilled at Chichi Papa for hookah (they call it Shisha) - added ice and milk to the hookah and it made a bombass experience.

On the second day, we explored LX Factory - cool little market area. After that, we headed to towards the Belem area and a must have pasteis de nata at Pasteis de Belem.

We checked the Jerónimos Monastery - it was okay. We should have checked out the cathedral next to it. The line was very long, so we decided to skip it. We were trying to watch the Tower of Belem at sunset, but was covered by the clouds 😞. We grabbed dinner at TimeOut Market (the other location is in Chicago), so definitely check that out!

Sintra

We still lodged at Lisbon despite traveling to Sintra 2 days in a roll. We had to buy the rails from Lisbon to Sintra at the Train Station Rossio, which is located in the building with a Starbucks. I really enjoyed the Park and National Palace of Pena - Garden and Castle Moor. The climb of the Castle Moor: big steps, step climbs, narrow walkway, very windy, no safety rails. Overall - nerve-racking, but worth it. It has the greatest 360 view of Portugal.

Porto

The city of Porto is a historical hilly city. I quickly learned through the wine tour that port wine is dessert wine - not my type.
