Lodge 🏨
I stayed at the Shoreham Hotel, a few minute walk to the office. The bathroom of my hotel room smelled a bit un-fresh. I prefer to stay somewhere else next time.

NYC Fetch Office 🏢
On the way to the office, I usually grab a Veggie/Fruit smoothie at Bread & Butter in the morning. In the office, I met Corey, Eunice, Kelsey, Kevin, Malachi, Moulik, Data Analytics team, and Partner Development team in person for the first time. It's always a pleasure seeing Dylan again. The NYC office is small/cozy and has a very nice rooftop terrace. There 7th floor, which Fetch has access to, has a large variety of snacks/booze. Fancy!

The Uncommons 🎲
June 29, Wednesday

Corey, Dylan, Kevin, Moulik, and I decided to go play board games at The Uncommons. The place was a bit tight, but we made it work. We played Spy Fall, Magic Maze, and Obscurio were all a hit for everybody. After that, we grabbed dinner at an Italian restaurant, Carroll Place.

The Escape Room | Society Billiards & Bar 🕵🏻‍♂️ | 🎱
June 30, Thursday

We dined in at ilili, a Lebanese restaurant. The food was really good, but the portions were smaller and expensive. The Lamb Rack and the fries were surprisingly delicious.

We found an escape room on Google with a rating of 4.7/5 ⭐️ called World Of Escapes. The puzzles for the most was pretty gratifying. We got lucky that the lock at the beginning opened by accident. We managed to escape with 9 minutes left over.

Next, we played pool/ping pong at the Society Billiards & Bar. We stayed there for about a good 3 hours. Towards the 2nd of half, I was mentoring Moulik on concepts like: follow, english, and draws.

Hex East 🎲
July 1, Friday

Kelsey and Darren joined us today, so we had 7 folks and decided to do board games again. Hex East was a good option since there are tables that seated 8. We played Letter Jam, Decrypto, and 6 nimmt.

We left at ~9pm and then dined at Boqueria. We tried lots of tapas dishes here and the best food is the Paella. A bit pricey - food here isn't the greatest but not bad.

The internship meetup was overall a success! We had lots of team building activities. The face to face interaction gave the interns a more positive experience of what working in the office along side with the mentors is like. My 1-on-1's with them extended longer than usual and I was able to give them lots of education/ideas regarding their respective project.

Kelsey made us yummy breakfast and then we all got right down to business. We played a couple of brain damaging board games. Root is a strategic territorial game. A Feast for Odin is a worker placement and tile placement game. We played Exit: The Game - The Sunken Treasure and solve that in 99 minutes with a 5/10 ⭐️ rating. Heave Ho is a Nintendo Switch game we played at the end of the night. The cooperative version is frustrating. However, the competitive version is so much fun!

Kelsey made us strawberry banana smoothie and then it's business as usual → 🤓. Anno 1800 was long and well worth the play - Win or lose, the entire game was very engaging and exciting. And I won 😜. After dinner, we spent 2.5 hours on Coffee Trader to learn the instructions and played 1 round.

We went to a Korean restaurant Sambong Naeng Myun and I got the Short Rib Soup. It was so good! Next, we stopped at a local coffee shop Roast'd and I got the last exclusive roast, Melina.

I woke up earlier than usual and made a fruit/veggie smoothie for everyone. We wrapped up Coffee Trader's remainder of 2 rounds. This game was fun, especially in round 3. However, the difficulty to complete some parts of the board was unsatisfying. Because of that and the the long instructions, it wasn't worthwhile to purchase the game.

My trip at the Gu's was so much fun - we played several brain damaging games and I've added Anno1800 to the shopping cart. I had a great time catching up with them and had a great stay at their beautiful house in Jersey.
