Our flight to India had a layover in Hong Kong for half a day.
There is mixed reviews about drinking tap water. We stuck with water bottles to be safe.
Ubers are available and they come as red cabs at the airport.
The exchange rate at the airport was ~700HK to US dollars while the exchange rate store off the street was ~770HK.
Moral of the story, don't exchange for HKD at the airport. We relied on credit card for restaurants and taking the train. For the trains, we simply scan our credit card at the turnstile at the entrance and at the exit.
We stayed at a hostel called Hop Inn in the Tsim Sha Tsui neighborhood. The private room costed about ~$120 (+$13 for super late check in). We arrived at the hostel at 3am, very jet lagged. After attempting to sleep, I was only able to get 45 minutes in. I worked for a bit and then jetted out at 7am for the first open cafe for ☕️.

We booked The Dark Side for a Walking Tour. We learned about the struggles and the cost of living. It was a very educational and I loved it!
20% of the population lives in a very small living quarter. A family of 4 lives in this unit. 🏚️
