Tofu Mix

  • ½ teaspoon White pepper
  • ½ teaspoon Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Umami Mushroom powder
  • ¼ teaspoon Five Spice
  • ½ cup of potato starch

Veggie Mix

  • ½ onion diced
  • Half bulb of garlic minced
  • 2-3 mild general chili pepper diced e.g. green chiles or siling haba
  • Few strands of scallion sliced
  • Few strands of cilantro

Tofu Steps

  1. Mix the Tofu Mix
  2. Slice tofu into 1 inch cubes
  3. Mix the tofu cubes into the Tofu Mix
  4. Prepare a pan of oil (for pan fry) on medium heat
  5. Cook the tofu cubes for 3-5 minutes on each side. If the pan isn't big enough, then make multiple batches.
  6. Once golden brown, put them aside
  7. If bland, add more salt and/or tofu mix to the fried tofu.

Veggie Steps

  1. Saute onion and then saute garlic, until both are golden brown
  2. Add chili and pepper and saute for a few minutes
  3. Add the scallions and mix for 1 minute
  4. Add in the tofu and cilantro
  5. On high heat, mix for 1 minute
