Fetch Office 🏢
The Fetch Birmingham office has a modern/industrial theme. Nice elevator desks, giant monitors, plenty of beverages/snacks, dog-friendly, and cozy meeting rooms 🖥 🍺☕️🍫🐕. It's only a 15 minute ride to the airport.
Day 1️⃣
I've met my entire team, in addition to other Birmingham colleagues, for the first time 👋🏻👪. For the last half year, we've talked over Slack, conversed over Zoom, but never had that face-to-face interaction. It was a warm-welcoming friendly feeling 🧡 from everyone.
Being in person, it made mentorship so much easier with white-boarding and coding. I was able to present to Terrance & Denis the project architecture and tips & tricks on troubleshooting issues 👨🏫. Lots of great things comes with in-person meet up!
On our way to dinner, we've noticed that they are barely any cars on the streets and only encountered a couple of pedestrians during the 20 minute walk. It's like a ghost town 👻🏘! Dinner at Bamboo on 2nd was good! Great small dishes and sushi 🍶🍣.
Most of us headed home after dinner. Terrance, Denis, Gilang, Ali, and I went to the Elyton Hotel Rooftop 🏙. I had the special Watermelon drink 🍉🍸, delicious! It had a great view of the city and we saw the Shipt building. Great conversations always spark at night over drinks 🍻. We learned a lot about each other!
Day 2️⃣
We had breakfast at Red Cat. I ordered the grits and the Mango smoothie - grit was okay and the smoothie was a bit sweet. The bowl is tiny and is very filling!
One of my favorite moments of this trip was to team work on troubleshooting production issue together 👩🏻💻🧑🏽💻👨🏻💻. Our internal beta results reported seeing the game played multiple times. It was all hands on decks and the team gel very quickly!

After some investigation 🕵️, we figured out some of the problems. It reminded me of how much I love working together in person.
We had a great meeting about the future of our team. It was exciting to know that we are iterating on Daily Reward project and to then improve on Sweepstakes! 🚨 Spoiler Alert! Our team will also become an official pack! Many exciting news 📰!
We stopped by Good People Brewery for a few drinks 🍺 and then watched the Baron's game ⚾️🍔🌭🍺 with an exclusive seating section.
At the Baron's game ⚾️, we played Bobby's World. There exist books, but no pages 📚, 🚫📄. One by one, each person picked up the riddle. When you get it, you get it 😉. And at the end, the Barons lost 3 to 4 😢.
Day 3️⃣
Denis, Ali, Terrance, and I had breakfast at Hero Doughnuts & Buns. The Loaded Hash was pretty good, except, it was sweet and savory. 🥔
For lunch, we ate at Rodney Scotts BBQ. The beef briskets 🥩 were bombass 💣! We went there to introduce briskets to Gilang. For Gilang 🤜 🤛!!
Day 3 was a pretty quiet, shortened day. Meetings, lunch, and then fly out early. We ended with hugs, handshakes, and a team photo! 👪 📸
