This Google Map contains a list of: restaurants, breweries, and special interests in Asheville.

Day 1

12 Bones
My good buddy Motyka and I first headed to 12 Bones for lunch. Fortunately, there was no line on a Thursday noon. I ordered half a rack of ribs, baked beans, sweet mashed potatoes, and a side of chopped briskets. The only thing good was the ribs. They have a lot of sauces that are yummy.

Green Man
We then stopped by Green Man for a good cold beer during this very sunny day. I forgot what I ordered, but it was something along the line of a tart beer with a hint of fruit. I enjoyed it very much!

Burial Beer
Our next stop is one of my favorite breweries, Burial Beer. The bartender told me that Cocoa Bolo tastes like Almond Joy. I saw ingredients contain, coconut, cocoa nibs, and brown ale - sold! It really tasted like almond joy but on beer. This is definitely my top 3 beers of all time! I wished I had more stomach space for this specific beer, Fabrications of the Nonbeliever. That really looks like my kind of beer!

Lexington Glassworks
I've always seen how glasses are made on TV and Youtube, but not in person. This was a perfect opportunity to see it live.

Here are some of their craftmanship. Each of these probably goes for ~$100 a pop, no lies.

Gan Shan Station
We ended our night at an Asian fusion restaurant called Gan Shan Station. I had a Noble Cider and ramen, both were decent.

Cheers to us!

Day 2

Taco Billy
When I was researching for foodie restaurants in Asheville, I noticed that Taco Billy had opening hours from 7am-3pm. I thought to myself, if a restaurant had limiting hours, it must be freakin' good! When we came there at noon and there was a short line already. Good sign! I ordered the tacos Good Lovin (vegetarian), Kirb Service (beef medallions), San Cris (slow-roasted pork). Kirb Service is the best meal I've had in Asheville. Good Lovin comes very close to Kirb Service. I couldn't complain about the San Cris either. These are some huge tacos. I recommend ordering 2 tacos or else you will get the stuffed feeling that you want to die.

New Belgium Brewing Company
Several blocks away from Taco Billy is New Belgium Brewing Company. My apologies for taking the picture under a red umbrella which makes all the beer look red. The beer that I really enjoy is called Agua Fresca. Must get! The bartender was very nice and we carried a good conversion. He ended up giving us a flight for free! FREE! Free is fun :]

Bebettes Beignets & Coffee
As full as we were, we just had to stop by Bebettes Beignets & Coffee. They had 3 different flavors for beignets: mounds of powdered sugar, churro, and chocolate fudge sauce. The churro and chocolate are definitely the flavors to get. The owner told us the chocolate sauce is her grandmother's secret recipe. When I hear grandma and secret recipe, my mind is imploded with BINGO BONGO BANGO! These beignets are very fluffy and are expansive in the inside. I took some photos of her making them from rolling the dough to frying them.

After she rolled the dough, she sliced them into big square pieces.

Unlike Cafe Du Monde's beignets, she let the beignets float in the fryer. Then, she flipped them over. You can see them puffing up and rising quickly.

Sorry, I forgot to leave the beignets intact before taking a photo. I just, couldn't, wait...

Day 3

Mount Mitchell - Hawks Bill trail
The drive from home to Mt. Mitchell is about an hour. The view of the elevation during the drive terrified me a bit, but it wasn't as bad as other mountains. We parked the car at the start of one trail called Hawks Bill which is a 1.5-mile hike (for one way, so 3 miles total). The climb was a bit steep and most of it was uphill. Hiking there is about an hour and going back was about 30 minutes.

At the 0.1-mile marker :)

This lumber is a weird looking one!

Looking behind to give you an idea of the climb

Mushroom tree branch?

Yay! We made it!

Standing next to Motyka makes me look puny lol
